Events that are open to the public:
Block Shoots
Quite possibly the best time you can have on a chilly fall/winter/spring afternoon. 1st Saturday of the month. 12-5 PM. Non-Smoking. October through April. Located on the upper level of the gun club.
A raffle ticket gets you a free lunch (Choice of Hamburger or Turkey BBQ, Baked Beans and tater chips, must present ticket to kitchen help for verification), a pitcher of beer, and a chance to win prizes listed on that ticket (need not be present to win, winners will be notified via phone). Tickets are $2 each or 3 for $5 and available at the door or through a gun club member. Also going on throughout the day are 'suckers wheel' meat raffles, someone will be walking around with a tray of tickets, usually a buck a ticket but sometimes 2 bucks (2 bucks gets you 2 chances to win), tickets have 2 numbers and when the wheel is spun if your # is called, go on up to the table and claim your prize (must present winning ticket to folks running the wheel, and the raffle prizes can be picked up on the lower level of the gun club). People have said how they haven't bought meat for months because of what they've won here. Very generous portions from Thomson's Meat Market, Walnutport, PA.
And now the best part, the block shoot. Persons interested in participating sign up (table located at the bar side of the room), $2 per shot, shotguns only, BB closest to X wins 1/2 the money that sign up sheet had. Example; the sign up sheet holds 30 names, 30 names x $2 a shot = $60, so at $2 a shot you could win $30. Target is at 67'. You can shoot as many times as you want (remember $2 a shot), bring your own shotgun or use one of the 'house' guns. Everyone has the same handicap, it's strictly luck as to where those BB's hit. And you don't even have to go outside!! When you're 'on deck' (which means next to shoot) go on over to where the sign up sheets are and about 3 steps past that table is a little room where the shooting happens. Just stick the barrel out the window, load your shot and blast away!! Don't worry if you have little to no experience with loading a shotgun, the guys running it will help you out. Also, you might want to wear hearing protection, the sound of the gun going off in that little room can be quite deafening (short term only, you will be able to hear as well as you did before the gun went off in a few minutes).
Dinners
Every Friday 4-8 PM. Weekly specials. Non-Smoking. Year round. Mostly everything on the menu is less than $10. Come in, find a table and have a seat, server will be with you shortly. Very reasonable prices on soft drinks, beers, and mixed drinks.
Breakfasts
Every 3rd Sunday. 9-1 PM Buffet style. All you can eat. Non-Smoking. Year round. Less than $10. Coffee, Hot Tea, Milk or OJ comp w. meal. Come in, serve yourself, find a table, server will bring bill to your table.
